How to cancel or downgrade your Pay-As-You-Go plan

If you want to stop being billed on the Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) plan, you can downgrade to the Free tier from your dashboard. There is no separate "cancel" button — downgrading to Free is how you stop PAYG charges.

Pay any outstanding invoice first

Downgrading to Free does not clear a balance for usage you have already incurred. If you have an unpaid invoice, pay it before or when you downgrade so your account is fully closed out. See Where can I see and pay my invoices? for how to find and pay an invoice.

Downgrade to the Free tier

1. Go to Billing Settings in your Alchemy dashboard.

2. Select Downgrade to Free Tier and confirm.

3. (Optional) In the Payment Details tab, remove your card to prevent any future charges.

Note: The downgrade takes effect at the start of your next billing cycle. Your account continues on PAYG rates for any usage between now and then.

Stopping charges immediately

If you need to prevent new charges right away rather than waiting for the next billing cycle, set a usage limit of $0 in Billing Settings. This caps your usage at that amount so you are not billed for additional consumption in the meantime. You can monitor your live usage from the Usage page. Note that gRPC usage incurs usage outside of the set usage limit.
