How is Solana gRPC (Yellowstone) streaming priced?
Last updated: August 25, 2026
Solana gRPC (Yellowstone) streaming is billed based on bandwidth, the amount of data delivered as part of the stream, rather than per-request compute units like standard RPC calls.
Pricing breakdown
Pay-As-You-Go: Starting at $75/TB streamed, prorated to the actual number of bytes streamed. You're only charged for what you stream.
Enterprise: Custom pricing.
Free plan: Yellowstone gRPC streaming is not available on the Free plan.
High-volume streaming
If you expect high-volume streaming, tens of TB per month or more, contact Alchemy sales to discuss volume pricing.
Usage caps and alerts don't cover gRPC streaming
The dollar-based hard cap and spend alerts you can configure in the dashboard apply to standard compute unit usage (SUPERNODE_CU) only. They do not cap or alert on Yellowstone gRPC streaming bandwidth, so gRPC charges can accrue even with a hard cap or spend alert already set on your account.
Avoiding unexpectedly high bandwidth
Subscribing with a broad or empty filter, for example calling Subscribe on the accounts stream without specifying which accounts, owners, or programs you care about, streams updates for every matching account on the network rather than just the ones you need. This can produce very high bandwidth and cost quickly. Always scope your subscription with account, owner, or program filters to only the data you need.
Viewing your usage and cost
You can see your own gRPC usage and its associated cost in the Alchemy Dashboard, under your app's usage and billing view.
